Coquitlam RCMP are continuing to investigate a bomb threat to Scott Creek middle school Thursday morning even though police with dog-sniffers failed to turn up anything suspicious.
"The file is not closed, we are still investigating," said Cpl. Jamie Chung, who said he couldn't speak about the case specifically but, generally, a charge of public mischief under the Criminal Code is laid against any individual who causes police to investigate a false report.
Hundreds of students and teachers spent much of Wednesday morning on the school field while police searched the school and grounds for a bomb.
The call, made at approximately 8 a.m. Wednesday, was made directly to the RCMP, which is handling the investigation, said School District 43 assistant superintendent Reno Ciolfi.
