More than 100 people gathered at the kʷikʷəƛ̓əm (Kwikwetlem) First Nation to walk for reconciliation, a day before Canada's National Day of Reconciliation.
Following a reception at the community hall on Thursday (Sept. 29), the contingent — many clad in orange hockey jerseys and clutching an orange flower — headed down Colony Farm Road toward səmiq̓ʷəʔelə/Riverview, where they placed flowers at a wreath of remembrance.
The walk was followed by a lunch at the community hall.
