The Riverside Rapids scored the first 17 points of the game and never looked back, defeating the Kelowna Owls 78-32 in their quarter final game at the BC High School AAAA senior girls basketball provincials, Thursday at the Langley Events Centre.
The top-seeded Rapids led eighth-ranked Kelowna 35-6 at the end of the first quarter and 47-20 at the half.
Senior point guard Avery Sussex led all Riverside players with 20 points, while Isla Kelly had 18 and Jorja Hart pitched in another 17.
The Rapids are the defending provincial champions.
The team will play the winner of the Lord Tweedsmuir and Okanagan Mission quarter final in Friday’s first semi-final, 6:45 p.m. at the LEC.
