A retirement living company in Port Coquitlam took a big prize home at last week’s Business Excellence Awards.
The Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce named Aspira as the region’s 2025 Business of the Year for its Astoria residences for seniors; the accolade was for firms with more than 20 employees.
And another Port Coquitlam company, with 20 or fewer staff, also rolled in a 2025 Business of the Year prize from the Chamber: PoCo Bowl.
Held in The Show Theatre at the Great Canadian Casino Vancouver, the event also saw the following winners:
- Matthew Sebastiani
- Young Professional of the Year
- Gabi and Jules
- Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Award of Distinction
- Enterprise Mechanical Systems
- Better Business Bureau Torch Award
- Coquitlam Search and Rescue
- Non-Profit of the Year
- Nicole Neuman of Synergy Engineering
- Business Leader of the Year
- Ahyoung Back
- Chamber Member of the Year
A panel of volunteer judges sifted through more than 70 nominations from the community to select the winners in the seven categories.
"To all of our Business Excellence Awards nominees, finalists and recipients, our Chamber is so proud to celebrate you. There is no shortage of exceptional leaders, businesses and community champions here in the Tri-Cities," said Chamber CEO Leslie Courchesne in a news release.
"Thank you to all of our member businesses, sponsors and supporters. Our Chamber is a powerful network created by you, to ensure the voice of business in the Tri-Cities is heard loud and clear and that our communities thrive."
