Person's identity sought as RCMP investigate potential connection to missing Port Coquitlam teen

Noelle O'soup has not been seen since May 2021 when they left their home without permission, and may have been getting help along the way.

There's potentially been a new development in a near nine months-long missing teenager's case out of Port Coquitlam.

RCMP have released three images of an individual in hopes someone can identify them as investigators believe they could have a connection to Noelle O'soup.

The 14-year-old teen — also known to go by the name "Elli" — was last seen May 12, 2021, when they left their home without permission at 6:30 p.m. and is still considered high-risk.

Since then, multiple efforts by Coquitlam Mounties to find O'soup have come up short.

In an earlier interview with the Tri-City News, spokesperson Const. Deanna Law said the teen may be getting help from others as they may not want to have their well-being checked.

"It is possible that O’soup may be avoiding contact with police or that people may be assisting O’soup without knowing that police are actively looking for [them]," explained Law.

"The message we would like to get to O’soup is to, 'Please contact the Coquitlam RCMP so that we can confirm your well-being in person.' Or to make contact with any police officer so that the well-being of O’soup can be confirmed."

The following description has been provided about the person in the photos released today (Jan. 25):

  • Short black hair
  • Wearing....
    • B.C. Ferries jacket
    • Bee Clean reflective vest
    • Dark pants
    • Black shoes
  • Last seen in the area of Gateway Station (Surrey) and is known to frequent the SkyTrain

O'soup is described as the following, but police say it's possible they may have changed their image to avoid being recognized:

  • Indigenous
  • 5'6"
  • 200 pounds
  • Short black hair
  • Last seen wearing...
    • Black hoodie with "LOVE" in white letters on the front
    • Dark blue jeans
    • Black shoes

Mounties say O'soup is known to frequent Vancouver, but could be anywhere in the Lower Mainland.
