Someone purchased a one-bedroom unit in this apartment for $360,000.

Port Moody is one of the region's most desirable cities and affordable homes are not easy to find.

So it's no surprise that someone snapped up a large apartment for less than $400,000 on St. Johns Street in a single day.

The property, located at Unit 59-2002 St. Johns St., was listed for sale for $349,000 on May 9 but quickly sold for over-asking at $360,000, according to the listing on Zealty.ca.

At 712 sq. ft. the condo is large — almost twice as big as some newer studios that are selling for much more.

The unit is also newly painted and up to two cata are acceptable for pets.

The apartment was built in 1965 according to BC Assessment, with an assessed value at $342,500.

It's an end unit, with massive trees providing privacy and a sound barrier.

However, the laundry is shared.

The seller's agent was One Percent Realty Ltd and the buyers agent was Keller Williams Elite Realty

Property taxes for this gem are less than $1,200 a year, according to the listing.
