Summer is getting closer, and Port Moody residents may likely be looking for ways to stay active.
The city has scheduled a pair of free fitness courses aimed to engage the community, enjoy the outdoors and enrich their own physical well being.
Two "in the park" events, both set to take place at Rocky Point Park later this month, are presenting both the fast-paced, entertaining cardio of Zumba and the calming, centring discipline of yoga.
Professional Zumba instructors will first get everyone moving to the beats of the Latin-inspired dance on June 13.
The event's description says it'll present a "dynamic, fun and rhythmic" atmosphere.
Then, on June 23, residents are invited to find their inner peace and flex their mental abilities through a Hatha Yoga class designed for all fitness levels.
Interested participants are asked to bring their own mat, towel and water bottle.
Both classes are for those aged 13 years and older, will be weather dependent and require registration in advance as spots are limited.
"Zumba in the Park" and "Yoga in the Park" will be from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on their respective days in front of Rocky Point Park's Pacific Coast Terminal (PCT) Performance Stage.
