There will be bargains galore as two Tri-City communities are set to host their annual city-wide garage sales this weekend.
On Saturday (April 23), hundreds of Port Moody and Port Coquitlam homeowners have registered to sell gently used wares and other items of interest to local treasure hunters.
It's part of Earth Week each year in recognizing and raising awareness on the need to cut waste out of landfills.
Items that don't get bought are encouraged to be donated to local charities to help those in need and to continue the message of reducing waste.
Area charities set to accept household-item donations include the Salvation Army Thrift Store (3190-2850 Shaughnessy St.) and Value Village (2739 Barnet Hwy.).
Residents will be out and about as early as 9 a.m. on Saturday across the two municipalities, roughly ending around 1 p.m.
Shoppers are encouraged to carry small bills and change for potential purchases and to "keep negotiations civilized."
As well, you're asked to drive carefully in neighbourhoods where several garage sales are set to take place and to be respectful of peoples' properties.

Port Coquitlam's list and map can be found here.
The deadline to be a host this year was on April 1 and 12 for each community respectively.
