A busy Vancouver pop up bakery is bringing mochi doughnuts to a new Coquitlam store this summer.
Mochido, which makes mochi donuts, brioche donuts, cream puffs and basque cheesecake out of a commissary kitchen in Vancouver, has leased a space in the City Centre neighbourhood at 100-1188 Pinetree Way.
The brand says it will open this summer, but it hasn't yet set a date.
Seating will be available, allowing customers to enjoy a line of drinks while watching their doughnuts get fried and glazed in the open concept kitchen.
The Tri-City News has reached out to the owners for more information about the business, which started in Vancouver in 2021.
In addition to the Vancouver commissary kitchen, at 107-8811 Laurel St., where treats are available for pre-order, Mochido will also be at the Richmond Night Market.
Mochi doughnuts have a big following in the Tri-Cities: Holy Mochi doughnuts sells doughnuts by pre-order out of a Port Moody commissary kitchen.
What are Mochi doughnuts?
