New lounge for board gamers to open in Port Coquitlam next month

A grand opening for Quest Central is slated for Oct. 26, 2024, in the PoCo Place strip mall.

A lounge for Metro Vancouver board gamers is coming to Port Coquitlam next month.

Quest Central has its signs up in a storefront in the PoCo Place strip mall, facing Westwood Street.

According to its website, the business has more than 100 board games available — for all ages and skill levels — to play in the lounge or in one of the private theme rooms.

Among its games include:

  • backgammon
  • chess
  • Hogwarts Battle
  • Jumanji
  • Mouse Trap
  • Pokémon: Legends of Sinnoh
  • What do you meme?

Owner Megan Wood said online her family has a passion for games and the idea for a business came to her during a Dungeons and Dragons game night.

“My friends and I realized there was a wonderful opportunity to create a dedicated gaming lounge — a place where you can gather outside the house and play, yet feel like you're in the comfort of a friend's home,” she wrote.

A grand opening is slated for Saturday, Oct. 26.

Currently, Quest Central is hiring and is offering a living wage to employees.
