Single and double vaccination rates against COVID-19 remain unchanged in the Tri-Cities.
However, it appears more people of eligible age have chosen to get an extra layer of protection against the virus.
As of April 16, the Tri-Cities is nearing a 60 per cent triple-vaccination rate, which is the average among residents aged five years and older — which includes high-risk individuals like the immuno-compromised — living in Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Port Moody, Anmore and Belcarra.
The exact number of 58 per cent, notes the BC Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC).
That's also currently the fourth highest booster-vaccine rate in all of Fraser Health.
New Westminster leads the way at a 60 per cent on the nose, followed by Burnaby and South Surrey-White Rock at 59 per cent each.
Port Moody–Anmore–Belcarra has one of the highest COVID-19 booster-shot rate among Fraser Health municipalities, also at 60 per cent.
The BCCDC says the Tri-Cities is maintaining 92 and 89 per cent first- and second-dose rates and hasn't moved from those plateaus throughout the spring.
