New data released today (June 2) shows that the Tri-City region is seeing significant advancements in flattening the COVID-19 curve.
Across the five sub-regions broken down by the BC Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC), roughly 71.5% of eligible residents aged 12 years and older have been vaccinated with their first dose.
This is the first time the 12-plus immunization rate has been added to the Tableau Public format since it was introduced in early May, alongside those over 18 and those over 50.
The Tri-City week-to-week case rate has also decreased to an average of 5.2 between May 25 and 31 compared to eight in the week prior.
It’s still currently the third lowest of other regions in Fraser Health. South Surrey/White Rock (1) and Agassiz/Harrison (0) are the lowest in the authority.

The information comes days after more businesses in the Tri-Cities were alerted for COVID-19 exposures that forced a minimum 10-day closure, including a pair of pizza restaurants.
On May 26, Freshslice Pizza locations in Coquitlam Centre (2929 Barnet Hwy.) and in Port Moody's Newport Village (240 Newport Dr.) were alerted for exposure, while Allwest Electric Ltd. in Port Coquitlam (110-2250 Fremont St.) has been closed since May 28.
As of this publication (June 2), Fraser Health has recorded 84,193 lab-confirmed COVID-19 infections.
There have been 895 virus-linked deaths in the regional authority since the start of the pandemic.
Currently, there are 1,436 active cases, 43 people admitted into critical care among 125 hospitalizations and 81,803 recoveries.
