It's been weeks since B.C. rolled out third vaccinations against COVID-19, and it appears to be in demand for the Tri-Cities.
According to the BC Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC), 36 per cent of eligible residents have received a booster jab — the average rate across the region's five surveillance areas.
The new stat accounts for those aged 70 years and older as of Monday (Nov. 22), which is the fourth-highest in the Fraser Health authority and 18th in all of B.C.
Port Moody-Anmore-Belcarra leads the category at 40 per cent with southwest Coquitlam not far behind at 37 per cent.
If you include eligible immuno-compromised residents aged 12 years and older, seven per cent of the Tri-Cities have been jabbed with a non-mandatory third shot.
Meanwhile, the average rates in that same age group for single- and dose-dose vaccinations against COVID-19 has not moved in the last week, remaining at 91.6 and 89 per cent respectively.

VACCINE CLINICS
Fraser Health has begun a reoccurring vaccine clinic at Douglas College to help those still seeking a dose against COVID-19.
The Coquitlam campus at 1250 Pinetree Way is hosting eight pop-up stations between tomorrow (Nov. 26) and Dec. 17, 2021 — behind the Tim Hortons from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.
- Nov. 26, 27 and 29
- Dec. 4, 6, 11, 13 and 17
Eligible residents can walk up with no appointment necessary, though you're also encouraged to book an appointment for a smoother visit.
If it's your first dose against COVID-19, you will need your personal health number and a piece of ID.
If it's your second, and it's been at least 28 days since your first dose, you will need your personal health number, ID and immunization record card.
For more information, you can visit the authority's website.
The Coquitlam Central Station's Park and Ride overflow lot is still acting as a mass immunization clinic and is also offering third doses of vaccine against the virus.
