McCurrach to kick off Port Coquitlam council campaign Friday

A past president of a union local and a civic volunteer wants a Port Coquitlam council seat.

PoCo resident Nancy McCurrach announced this week she will run in the November civic election with a platform that includes fair taxes, more affordable housing and better recreation amenities.

McCurrach is a member of the city's smart growth committee and holds executive roles with the Port Coquitlam NDP riding association, the New Westminster and District Labour Council and the I Am Someone Ending Bullying Society.

The mother of four will kick off her campaign at the Burke Beer House on Friday at 6 p.m. Visit nancy4portcoquitlam.ca.

Civic elections will be held on Nov. 15.
