A 25-year-old Maple Ridge man is back at Port Coquitlam Provincial Court on March 20 to face nine counts of sexual assault.

Daniel Landy is charged with the crimes that are alleged to have happened around Coquitlam last December.

Today, March 5, Coquitlam RCMP told the Tri-City News that Landy is accused of inappropriately touching women’s bottoms in a number of public places.

According to his court-ordered conditions, Landy is banned from visiting Glen Park (1149 Westwood St., Coquitlam) and other parks around the municipality; he also has a daily curfew.

Coquitlam RCMP arrested Landy on Dec. 8, 2024, following reports by nine women between Dec. 4 and Dec. 7. The BC Prosecution Service approved the charges on Jan. 28, 2025, under Section 271 of the Criminal Code.

The nine women have since received victim support from the detachment, Coquitlam RCMP Const. John Graham said.

“The Coquitlam RCMP thank the numerous complainants for coming forward which helped investigators to expediently identify and arrest a suspect,” Graham stated.

“Our top priority is public safety. We continue to ask anyone further who may have witnessed these incidents or may have experienced a similar incident to contact our investigators.”

Anyone with information about the prior incidents or with new information can call the Coquitlam RCMP non-emergency line at 604-945-1550 and quote file 2024-32060.
