Man wanted for robbery known for similar charges in the Tri-Cities

A second warrant in four months has been issued for Christopher Ellis, previously charged for theft in Coquitlam and Port Coquitlam.

Christopher Ellis, who has a history of crimes in the Tri-Cities, is wanted on charges of robbery, kidnapping and flight from police out of New Westminster as of July 26, 2023.

A 46-year-old man with a known history of crimes in the Tri-Cities is wanted by B.C. police for a second time in four months.

Christopher Ellis is sought for recent slew of charges out of New Westminster related to robbery, kidnapping and dangerous driving, according to Metro Vancouver Crime Stoppers.

His latest arrest warrant took effect last Thursday (July 20), and officers are hoping the public can help find Ellis.

According to online B.C. court services, Ellis was found guilty in June 2014 in Port Coquitlam provincial court for breaching a long-term probation order.

Twelve years earlier, in June 2002, he was charged for robbery in Coquitlam — one of several stints across the Lower Mainland in a two-month span.

Ellis was also guilty in provincial court for possession of stolen property (August 1996) and theft under $5,000 (May 1997) in Coquitlam and Port Coquitlam respectively.

Crime Stoppers notes his current arrest warrant is for the following:

  • Three counts = unlawfully confine - all others
  • Two counts = dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
  • One count = kidnapping
  • One count = robbery
  • One count = possession of property obtained by crime over
  • One count = operating a motor vehicle while disqualified
  • One count = flight from police

Ellis is described as:

  • 6'1"
  • 198 pounds
  • Brown hair
  • Brown eyes
  • Dragon tattoo on both shoulders
