The case against a 43-year-old man accused of harassing women in Port Moody over the past few months is in court today, Jan. 15.
Last weekend, Sohail Safari Kermanshahi, who is known to police, was arrested and has since been charged with criminal harassment and uttering threats.
Const. Sam Zacharias, Port Moody Police Department's spokesperson, said multiple investigations were opened in connection with a man allegedly bothering women in the Moody Centre neighbourhood.
The suspect, who is a Port Moody resident, remains in custody and a publication ban is imposed on the court proceedings.
“We understand there has been a lot of conjecture and concern about these incidents on social media platforms,” Zacharias said in a news release today, Jan. 15.
“We want the public to know that we take these reports seriously and we are asking any other potential victims who have yet to report similar incidents to contact us.”
