The Editor:
I’ve recently "adopted" a stretch of Bedwell Bay Road in Port Moody.
I pick up litter that people throw from their cars on their way to and from Sasamat Lake/White Pine Beach.
I’ve been horrified by the number of fresh cigarette butts at the side of the road every week during the current dry spell.
I found one today (Oct. 9) that had left a little black burn mark in the dry grass it had fallen into.
There is a big sign just before my section that indicates that the fire risk is high.
What else is necessary to get people to stop doing this?
