It's the last week for Tri-Cities beach bus routes before fall switch

Labour Day weekend is the final chance to take transit to White Pine Beach or Buntzen Lake for the summer.
Bus service in Fall
Bus routes in the Tri-Cities will get increased service as fall approaches.

The seasons are about to change, meaning service changes for Tri-Cities transit riders.

The final summer destination buses to White Pine Beach (150) and Buntzen Lake (179) are parking at Coquitlam Central SkyTrain Station on Sept. 6 — the Tuesday after the Labour Day long weekend.

The discontinued service is coming as TransLink switches to its fall schedule to boost ridership options across the Metro Vancouver region.

And that includes a few priority routes across Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam and Port Moody as residents return to work and school.

"TransLink adjusts service levels every three months to reflect changing demand and travel patterns," the transit authority said in a statement.

"Ridership on TransLink’s system is currently around 75 per cent of pre-pandemic levels, while TransLink’s services remain at or near pre-pandemic levels. TransLink is constantly monitoring systemwide ridership trends and adjusting service on routes based on that data."
