Mounties are asking the public to help identify a man in an alleged sexual assault involving a teenaged girl in Port Coquitlam.
A report to RCMP explains the incident occurred between 7 and 7:30 a.m. on Sept. 13 when a female youth was walking on 2400-block Wilson Avenue toward Reeve Street when she was approached by a man and allegedly assaulted.
These types of incidents are very concerning to police and we dedicate substantial effort and resources to solving them,
says Coquitlam RCMP spokesperson Const. Deanna Law, who tells the Tri-City News victim services is working closely with the girl.
It is important that each person feels safe in our community, and we need everyone’s help to make that happen.
The suspect is described as:
- 35 to 45 years old
- Tanned skin
- Bushy eyebrows
- Stubble facial hair
- Muscular build
- Last seen wearing...
- Black hoodie with orange on the front
- Dark sweatpants
- Running shoes
- Large left-hand silver ring
Later, police were told the man got into a dark-coloured pick-up truck.
The driver of that vehicle is also being sought by RCMP, who are hoping to speak with him about the reported incident.
He is described as:
- Male in their 20s
- Unkempt dark brown hair
- Large build
- Wearing a black jacket
