Talent wins games, but teamwork wins championships.
The famous Michael Jordan quote motivates Wali Adel every day to use his talents for the benefit of his marketing and sales team with the Tri-City News.
And the Coquitlam resident's dedication and community-first mindset has reached a new level of personal accomplishment.
Adel was recently named to the prestigious "President's Club" for Tri-City News' parent company, Glacier Media, for his work to increase sales from 2021 to 2022.
He's been with the group for nearly three years as a new business development and digital marketing specialist.
Adel can be seen providing multi-media solutions to interested clients across the Tri-Cities and the Lower Mainland.
So, while his time has been somewhat short, he said he's thrilled to be recognized for his work in bringing the community together.
"It's definitely an honour to be amongst the top sales people in Glacier and to be part of an elite group of people who came before me," Adel remarked.
"This reward is not an easy one to come by; it's very humbling and rewarding."
When Adel is not at the office, you can find him working out at Club 16 Trevor Linden on Barnet Highway, shopping at Coquitlam Centre, munching on wings at Earls in Port Coquitlam and taking an evening stroll around Lafarge Lake.
Adel said he owes his success to the entire Tri-City News sales and marketing team, most notably publisher Lara Graham, senior digital strategist Neeta Dhillion, ad controller Brenda Coulbourn and sales manager Vicki Magnison.
In addition to sharing the success with others, Adel hopes to use the new status as extra motivation for a prosperous year.
"2023 will be bigger and better....I know its a tall task but I'm up for the challenge."
Glacier Media president Peter Kvarnstrom announced Adel as one of 10 "President's Club" award winners for the 2022 campaign.
As part of the program, Adel was bestowed a trip for two to Mexico.
