Landmarks around the globe — including Coquitlam's Lafarge Lake fountain, Port Coquitlam city hall and Port Moody civic facilities — are lit purple today (Sunday) in recognition of World Mental Health Day, a World Health Organization campaign.

The recognition is especially important in the Tri-Cities, as Oct. 10 is also the ninth anniversary of the death of CABE student Amanda Todd.

This week, her mother, Carol Todd, is raising funds in memory of her late teenage daughter to support anti-cyber bullying education through the Amanda Todd Legacy Society, which is based in Port Coquitlam.
