Remember watching the cartoons that romanticized the idea of gathering with friends around a campfire, toasting marshmallows and soaking in spooky stories?
Coquitlam residents are being invited to experience that childhood memory at the Evergreen Cultural Centre ahead of Halloween.
On Saturday, Oct. 28, at 8 p.m., adults and kids aged 12 and older — with parental discretion — can join local storytellers, including Coquitlam resident Casey Por, Squamish-based Emily Kelsall, and Tanaz Roudgar, for a night of spooky stories around a makeshift campfire.
Tales of Horror, according to a news release, will provide a wicked goose-bump journey with original tales from the storytellers.
Stories include themes of death, murder, violence, and general horror.
The event also part of Evergreen’s 2023-24 Rehearsal Hall Sessions.
Tickets are priced at $20 for adults and seniors and $16 for students including post-secondary students.
Interested participants are encouraged to don their best costumes and take part in the costume contest, all whilst enjoying a campfire and a complimentary glass of hot chocolate or sparking wine.
