The Christmas season is about family, friends and fellowship. It’s also about food — from grand feasts of turkey and stuffing to boundless snacks stretching our belts.
In the spirit of the holidays, the Tri-City News recently asked some of the people you read about to share their favourite must-try recipes.
It’s simple, but it never tastes the same as when Granny made them.
Ingredients
- Two (2) cups of all-purpose flour
- ½ cup of granulated sugar
- One (1) cup of unsalted butter
- One (1) pinch of salt
Directions
Let the butter come up to room temperature, then cream it with a mixer.
Add the sugar while still mixing on low.
Scrape the bowl, then add the flour and a pinch of salt, while still mixing on low.
When all the ingredients are mixed, transfer the dough onto a floured surface, shape into a brick or tube. Wrap it in plastic and chill in the fridge until firm.
Preheat the oven to 350°F.
Remove the chilled dough from the fridge and cut it into cookie slices.
Place this onto a cookie sheet lined with parchment. Bake for 10 minutes.
