A recipe my mother always made during the holidays and it’s one of our family favourites now.
Ingredients
¼ cup brown sugar
½ cup butter
1 egg yolk
1 cup flour
¼ tsp salt
1 egg white, beaten
¾ cup finely chopped nuts
Directions
Cream brown sugar and butter, then mix with egg yolk, flour and salt.
Roll in balls approximately one to 1.5 inches in diameter.
Dip each ball in beaten egg white, then roll in nuts.
Place on cookie sheet and press finger in top of each ball to create a depression.
Bake at 400° degrees for 10 mins.
Cool and fill holes with your choice of jelly or jam.
