Here’s what real estate is selling in Port Moody instead of single-family homes

Port Moody has a lot of older townhomes that are great for families. Recently, five large, older townhomes between 26 years and 50 years old sold in Port Moody in 10 days or less.

Check out REW.ca and you'll find many large, gorgeous singe-family detached homes for sale in Port Moody.

And some even come complete with a laneway home with two bedrooms and a legal basement suite you can rent.

But for those looking for size and space at prices they can afford, many local real estate buyers are purchasing large, older townhomes in established Port Moody neighbourhoods.

In recent weeks, there were no single-family homes reportedly sold in Port Moody; however, there were five larger and older townhomes that sold in early January — one in just one day.

Sale prices ranged from $870,000 to $1.275 million, according to Zealty.ca, and they offered sizable square footage, with the biggest coming in at a massive 2,733 sq. ft.

The age range of these homes is between 26 and 50 years old, and the homes were reportedly sold in early to mid-January, even as interest rates were about to increase again.

Still, what may have appealed to buyers, besides the price and living space, is the feel of being in an established neighbourhood: One was located on a greenbelt, most had tall trees and mature landscaping, two had incredible views while another had trees and was close to SkyTrain.
