Foul play not suspected in ongoing search for Coquitlam woman

A tentative timeline has been pieced together from when Andrea McIntyre left her home to the time RCMP found her vehicle empty in Port Coquitlam.

Andrea McIntyre is reported missing by Coquitlam RCMP, last seen around 1:30 a.m. on March 2, 2023.

RCMP, several of its divisions and volunteers have searched by land, sea and air for a Coquitlam woman.

But she's still has yet to be found.

Andrea McIntyre was reported missing to local Mounties earlier this month and her vehicle was found abandoned along Argue Street in Port Coquitlam, which runs parallel with the Fraser River.

In an update today (March 10), police say foul play is not suspected in the 45-year-old woman's case and that there's no immediate risk for public safety.

"We are very concerned for Andrea," said Sgt. Karrie Ellis, spokesperson for Coquitlam RCMP's general investigative section, noting the detachment recognizes there's an outpouring of community support to help find McIntyre.

"The continued efforts in locating Andrea McIntyre is the highest priority for our investigators."

Cops have also mapped out a timeline of where McIntyre travelled before leaving her vehicle — a grey 2013 Mazda CX 9 — in the early hours of March 2.

She believed to have left around 1:30 a.m. from her Maillardville home near the intersection of Rochester Avenue and Ashley Street.

Ellis said that some time between then and 2:30 a.m., McIntyre may have drove through Burke Mountain along Harper Road between Coast Meridian Road and Sheffield Avenue.

Police found her vehicle empty shortly after 4:20 a.m. on Argue Street.

In the time since asking the public to help find her, Ellis said Mounties have "extensively searched" Argue Street with the help of Coquitlam Search and Rescue, RCMP air and dog services, and the detachment's rural unit.

All efforts, unfortunately, have come up short.

"Police are asking anyone who may have dashcam, cellphone video, CCTV video from Harper Road between Coast Meridian Road and Sheffield Avenue to reach out to our investigators," said Ellis.

In an earlier statement, police said McIntyre was considered to be "high-risk" and that loved ones were "very concerned" for her health and well being.

She's described as:

  • White
  • 5'5"
  • Medium build
  • Blue eyes
  • Blonde hair

McIntyre was also believed to be wearing a dark navy puffy-style winter jacket when she left her home.
