Port Coquitlam has announced two holiday recycling pick-ups to help residents out with accumulated packaging over the Christmas festive period.
The city’s recycling trucks will visit all five PoCo collection zones over the course of Dec. 27 and 28, which would typically be non-collection days due to statutory holidays.
Recycling is normally picked up biweekly, which sometimes left households with full blue carts over the holidays, depending on their pickup days.
This is the second year for the holiday recycling service, which first took place last year.
Here’s when the pick ups will take place:
- Dec. 27: Zones 3, 4 and part of Zone 5 (Langan Street and streets to the north)
- Dec. 28: Zones 1, 2 and the rest of Zone 5 (south of Langan Street)
For an updated schedule, reminders, and other tools, residents receiving city waste services are encouraged to download the free PoCo Sort & Report app from portcoquitlam.ca/sortreport. Details are also posted on the Collection Schedule & Zone Map page at portcoquitlam.ca/waste.
For those looking to chip their Christmas trees, Port Coquitlam Fire & Emergency Services will hold its annual tree chip on Jan. 8 and 9, 2022. Find out more about the tree chip here.
