Motorists may be seeing the first Evergreen Line-related traffic delays this week.

Intersections on North Road, between Gatineau and Austin, will be controlled by flagpersons as work crews relocate the traffic lights. Minor delays are expected for both north and southbound traffic on North Road on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

In other Evergreen news, another contract has been awarded for early construction works.

Hans Demolition and Excavating, based in Surrey, has won the $581,000 contract to modify three light-industrial buildings in the 3000-block of Spring Street in Port Moody. The work is needed to accommodate the rapid transit line's guideway and no traffic disruptions are expected.

The provincial government issued the tender in early September.

Hans Demolition and Excavating also received one of the first early works contracts to remove vacant buildings in Coquitlam and Burnaby.
