Comedy, mystery and drama.
That’s what’s on the roster for Coquitlam’s Stage 43 Theatrical Society as it announces its 2024–24 season, of which early bird tickets are now on sale.
The group that calls the Evergreen Cultural Centre home will start its season with Opening Night, a play by Norm Foster about antics during the presentation of a new show.
Directed by Tiffany Markwart, Opening Night runs from Oct. 17 to 20 and Oct. 23 to 26.
Next up is Baskerville: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery by Ken Ludwig, which sees Arthur Conan Doyle’s The Hound of the Baskervilles recast as a comedic adventure.
It’s on from Jan. 16 to 19, 2025, and Jan. 22 to 25, 2025, under the direction of Dale Kelly.
Lastly is The Father: A Tragic Farce by Florian Zeller, a story about a retired dancer living with his daughter and her husband — or so he thinks.
Directed by Ocean Trudel-Poulin and translated by Christopher Hampton, the drama runs from May 1 to 4, 2025, and May 7 to 10, 2025.
Early bird tickets for all three shows are $66 for adults, and $60 for seniors and students.
But after July 31, the price rises to $75/$69 for the trio of productions, until Oct. 26 (after Sept. 1, individual tickets are $30/$25 per show).
Formed in 1983, Stage 43 is a nonprofit theatrical troupe that’s part of the Theatre BC Fraser Valley Zone. The Evergreen Cultural Centre is located at 1205 Pinetree Way, Coquitlam, next to the Lafarge Lake–Douglas SkyTrain station.
