Coquitlam and Surrey Mounties are joining forces in an investigation to catch fraudsters who allegedly bilked a couple out of $28,000 using stolen debit and credit cards.
The investigation began Aug.14, 2019 after a report that multiple stolen credit cards belonging to a husband and wife had been fraudulently used in Port Coquitlam, Surrey and Burnaby.
In PoCo, more than $5,000 was allegedly stolen from a bank, according to Coquitlam RCMP.
Cpl. Michael McLaughlin confirmed the local Mounties are working with Surrey on the file and are hoping more tips will turn up from this latest public appeal for information.
A Surrey RCMP spokesperson said this is the second public appeal for information but now police are releasing further photos in hopes of identifying the suspects.
“We are requesting people take another look at the individuals involved,” the spokesperson said.
The suspects are described as a dark-skinned adult male and a Caucasian female.
