A 21-year-old man was arrested for dangerous driving on Monday, March 11.

And now Coquitlam RCMP are calling for witnesses and video in connection with his road activities that morning.

Police say they received a report at around 9:30 a.m. about a black Tesla tailgating vehicles while weaving in and out of traffic.

More calls came in about the Tesla as it was heading westbound along the Mary Hill Bypass, near the Pitt River Road, in Port Coquitlam.

But when the driver merged onto the Trans-Canada Highway, officers were waiting near the Brunette Avenue off-ramp.

“We would like to thank the public for reporting this incident to police. The information provided allowed us to quickly locate and stop the vehicle before a serious collision could occur,” said Coquitlam RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Alexa Hodgins in a release issued Wednesday, March 13.

Witnesses and vehicle owners with dash-cam or cellphone footage who captured the driver between 9:15 a.m. and 9:45 a.m. on March 11 are asked to contact the Coquitlam RCMP at 604-945-1550, quoting file number 2024-6128.
