Coquitlam RCMP seek robbery suspect

The Coquitlam RCMP are seeking the public's assistance in identifying a suspect who allegedly attempted to rob a person at an ATM machine. The incident took place shortly after 8 p.m. on Saturday, Feb.

The Coquitlam RCMP are seeking the public's assistance in identifying a suspect who allegedly attempted to rob a person at an ATM machine.

The incident took place shortly after 8 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 4, when a woman was taking money out at a bank on North Road.

Just as she was completing her transaction, a female suspect rushed into the ATM area of the bank and tried to grab the cash from the victim.

The victim held tightly to the bills and the suspect fled empty-handed in the direction of the Lougheed Highway.

The alleged robbery suspect is described as a Caucasian female in her late teens or early 20s, 5'6", slim with a medium build. She has reddish-brown, shoulder-length hair.

At the time of the incident she was wearing a blue jacket, dark coloured pajama bottoms and was carrying a brown backpack and a light coloured bag.
