There's a new face representing Coquitlam RCMP in front of the cameras.
Cpl. Alexa Hodgins is the new media relations officer for the detachment.
Formerly with Burnaby RCMP for over 13 years, Cpl. Hodgins will now be the public face of the detachment, handling media inquiries and publishing press releases.
Her experience is varied, according to Coquitlam RCMP.
Cpl. Hodgins has worked in intimate partner violence, youth services, investigative support team, general duty and, most recently. serving as Burnaby RCMP’s media relations officer.
She has an interest in journalism, according to a statement.
“Prior to joining the RCMP in 2009, I was pursing education in broadcast journalism,” stated Cpl. Hodgins.
“I am excited that I can combine my interests of journalism and policing within the media relations role.”
