A Coquitlam mother of two elementary school students in School District 43 is running for school trustee in this fall's board of education election.
For five years, Shari O'Neill said she has been involved in her children's school parent advisory council and as the school's liaison with the the Montessori Society.
"We need solutions to this districts' problems and I want to be a part of finding them," O'Neill said, noting in a statement she has attended every board meeting this year and a handful last year.
O'Neill is the second candidate to announce she is running for school trustee. Jodie Wickens recently announced her candidacy.
School board and city council elections will be held on Nov. 15.
