CFOX host Jeff O’Neil will bring his live show back to Coquitlam Friday for the radio station’s annual Santa Fox Food Drive.
The Coquitlam resident will be joined by his morning team, Capt. Scotty and Karen K, for the campaign at Coquitlam Centre (near the H&M store) from 6 to 10 a.m. Carmen Cruz will be on the air from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. while Jeremy Baker — who is also from Coquitlam — steps to the microphone from 2 to 6 p.m.
The public is invited to drop off cash and food cans between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. For those unable to attend, you can give via https://sharesociety.ca/donate-to-share.
Last year’s effort brought in more than $25,000 and 10,000 lb. of non-perishable food items for Share Family and Community Services and Food Banks BC.
“The Share society is delighted to be participating in Santa FOX again this year," said Share CEO Claire MacLean. "The support we receive from the community during the holiday season sustains our food bank operations into the summer months so fundraisers like this one from CFOX are really critical."
She added: "Our food bank supports over 4,100 people in the Tri-Cities every year including a large number of seniors and children. We encourage cash donations as Share uses these funds to provide more nutritious and fresh fruit and vegetables, dairy, eggs and meat to those in need. We also welcome non-perishable food donations such as peanut butter, cooking oils, rice, lentils, infant formula and baby food. Please see our online store for more donation ideas at https://sharesociety.ca/virtual-store."
