If you’re looking to be a part of a big sound and want an energy boost for your brain, a Tri-City choir wants you to join its group in the new year.

The first 2024 rehearsal for Choral Connections is on Tuesday, Jan. 2 and it’s looking for sopranos, altos, tenors and basses to participate.

The 80-member ensemble meets Tuesdays from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Trinity United Church in Port Coquitlam (2211 Prairie Ave.) to practice a variety of musical genres and prepare for a formal concert in May, as well as other community events.

Registration is open until the end of January to join the choir. No audition is required; however, applicants should be able to read music.

For more details, you can visit Choral Connections' website.

Meanwhile, on Jan. 28, the choir under Ingrid Gay, a music teacher at Heritage Woods Secondary in Port Moody, and pianist Vincent Lo will present United in Song 2024, a mid-winter concert from 2 to 4 p.m. at the church.

Tickets are $20 per person.
