About 30 years ago, Lyle Povah started a music program at BC Children’s Hospital.
This year, to mark the milestone, Povah is combining his two loves of song and long-distance running to raise money for the Vancouver healthcare centre.
Tomorrow, Nov. 15, Povah and his Rhythm of Life Society team will be at Coquitlam’s Pinetree Community Centre for his Drum Run Adventure Tour.
Started on Vancouver Island in September, the 1,500-km tour has seen drum circles in two dozen communities along the Highway of Tears, the Okanagan and the Lower Mainland.
Coquitlam is the penultimate stop before the finale in Vancouver on Saturday, Nov. 18.
Participants of all ages and musical levels can bring a drum, or use an instrument provided, for the drum circle from 7 to 9 p.m. at the centre (1260 Pinetree Way).
Entry is by donation with proceeds going to the Child Life Department at the hospital.
