Non-profit organizations looking for financial assistance this year, as well as individual students, can now look to a local group for potential help amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Coquitlam Foundation launched its 2022 round of grants, scholarships and bursaries as of December.
It's looking to build on the near $123,000 from last year's distribution of funds by the charitable group.
According to its website, the Coquitlam Foundation's community grants are earmarked for non-profits whose goals are to improve the lives of local residents.
The application form suggests that up to $3,500 is available for successful candidate and the foundation adds the grants are "more broadly set up to address a cause or concern in the community."
As for scholarships and bursaries, there are 17 listed — some ranging from $1,000 to $1,500 each — set for current or prospective post-secondary students.
If successful, the recipients would put the money towards tuition, a particular field of study or for involvement in a sport.
Interested applicants are encouraged to fill and submit the required forms before 4 p.m. on Feb. 15.
More information is available on the Coquitlam Foundation's website.
It's annual awards night when the cheques will be handed out is tentatively scheduled for June 8 at the Evergreen Cultural Centre.
