The list of charges has grown against a young offender from Port Coquitlam who allegedly participated in last year's Stanley Cup riot in downtown Vancouver.
The Crown this week approved an additional charge of mischief under $5,000 for the 17-year-old, who cannot be named under the Young Offenders Act.
The suspect was already facing charges of participating in a riot and break and enter, following the Canucks' 4-0 loss to the Boston Bruins in the Stanley Cup final.
Crown announced the new charge on Tuesday along with ten other charges against four other suspected rioters from Richmond, Vancouver, New Westminster and Maple Ridge.
The Port Coquitlam suspect is not the only person from the Tri-City to be arrested in the months after the riot.
Ryan Dickinson was sentenced to 17-months in jail after pleading guilty earlier this year. Video surveillance showed him outside the Black & Lee tuxedo store, where he threw a mannequin and then a newspaper box at the window.
He also had a prior criminal record for assault causing bodily harm, which was a factor at sentencing.
So far, close to 200 charges against 75 suspected rioters have been approved by the Crown. Police have also mounted an aggressive campaign to identify people seen in video and photos participating in the riot.
