Residents are encouraged to join in this year’s worldwide earthquake drill on Thursday.
ShakeOut BC, which is part of International ShakeOut Day, takes place on the third Thursday of October to give people a chance to practice earthquake protocols every year.
According to ShakeOut BC’s website, everywhere in B.C. is considered a “high risk” for earthquakes in relation to the rest of Canada.
In 2019, over one million participants took part in the event in B.C. and over 710,000 people have already registered for this year’s event.
ShakeOut drills can be held anywhere and whenever people choose to.
B.C. will be holding their ShakeOut event at 10:15 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 15.
