PriceSmart Foods will open this week at the new City of Lougheed development in Burnaby this Thursday, Jan. 25.
The grocery store at 9899 Austin Rd. is the second PriceSmart in Burnaby and the third in Metro Vancouver.
PriceSmart will host a grand opening Thursday with rewards for the first 400 customers.
Store manager Eddie Kim said he is thrilled to welcome the community to a "truly unique grocery experience," in a pamphlet mailed to nearby residents.
"Are you a passionate and adventurous eater, seeking out the most authentic Asian ingredients? Find everything you need from a variety of local and imported produce, live seafood, exceptional cuts of meat and other unique products," Kim said in the mailout.
He also noted there will be a "bustling night market" called Takeout Town where you can get made-to-order teppanyaki, ramen, or Hong Kong-style noodle soup, as well as prepared sushi, dim sum and barbecue made daily in store.
You can also get a bubble tea at Harmony Café, according to a press release.
"We are so excited to open our third PriceSmart Foods store to better serve our diverse neighbours in Burnaby," said Pattison Food Group president Darrell Jones in the release.
"This beautiful new store brings our customers unique food options and memorable shopping experiences as they explore traditional tastes of home, and forge new taste traditions with their families."
PriceSmart is part of Pattison Food Group, owned by Jim Pattison, which bills itself as Canada's largest Western-based provider of food and health products.
Pattison Food Group businesses include Save-On-Foods, Buy-Low Foods, Nesters Market, Urban Fare and Choices Market.
