A Port Moody theatrical company will continue under a new name

The IOCO Players, started in 2021 by the award-winning community builder Mike Arseneault, is now the POMO Players.

A theatrical company launched in Port Moody during the COVID-19 pandemic has rebranded.

The IOCO Players is now the POMO Players following the departure of founder Mike Arseneault, a retired Nike marketing whiz who has returned to the United States.

In a social media message posted on Sunday, Aug. 18, Arseneault thanked the company supporters including PoMoArts, which will continuing partnering with the organization to offer rehearsal space.

He also recognized past corporate sponsors for helping POMO Players with its first radio play: Miracle on 34th Street, directed by Lisa Pope.

An open call will be held on Sunday, Sept. 8 (1:30 to 4:30 p.m.) and on Monday, Sept. 9 (6 to 9 p.m.) for actors wanting a part in the production that will take place in the Inlet United Church at the Springs from Nov. 21 to 23, 2024.

The co-producers are Paul Wiebe and Jenny Norris while Arseneault is working remotely as the executive producer and marketing coordinator.
