One of the treats of a career in community journalism is being able to meet and converse with people who selflessly work to make a difference.
Robert Simons is one of those people.
While our paths had crossed several times over the years to talk about various issues in Port Moody, his recognition with a Freedom of the City award was a chance to put a spotlight on the many things he’s done to build community and preserve the city’s heritage, so it only seemed fitting to photograph him where those elements came together, the old city hall that is now an arts centre.
