More than 30 groups, non-profits and individuals keen on enriching the lives of others are getting a financial boost.

The Port Coquitlam Community Foundation (PCCF) recently handed $137,546 to successful applicants from its latest seasonal round of grants and bursaries.

The organization said the money will be used to conduct programs or begin projects that aim to educate or strengthen PoCo's neighbourhoods as well as the Tri-Cities region.

The six-figure charitable endowment brought the PCCF's distribution total to nearly $1.75 million since 2012.

A ceremony to announce and honour the new recipients took place on June 26 at the Port Coquitlam Community Centre.

"The event was a celebration of the great work of the many incredible organizations in Port Coquitlam, as well as those who make these grants and bursaries possible," said Anna Wilczewski, PCCF executive director, in a release.

"While recognizing our grant and bursary recipients, we also honoured our community champions: those who had the foresight so many years ago to establish the PoCo foundation and our donors."
