Students enrolled in visual arts programs at a Coquitlam hub will end their semester with a group show.
But they won’t be the only ones exhibiting their work.
This year, the projects by Place des Arts’ students will be displayed alongside art from alumni as well as teachers and staff.
“It makes it interesting because you can see all perspectives of learning in one space,” Kim Correia, the centre’s fine and performing arts and exhibitions programmer, told the Tri-City News. “It’s a cool new thing that we haven’t done in the past.”
In total, 55 pieces in various mediums — including painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, mixed media, ceramics and textiles — from 31 participants will be on the Atrium gallery walls from June 4 to June 24.
The emerging and professional artists hail mostly from the Tri-Cities, Correia said; however, all have or have had a connection with the Brunette Avenue facility.
“Most of them are here on a regular basis,” she said.
