Dirt - an Alice in Chains tribute band made up of (left to right)Bridget Mattson, Braeden Matson, Avery Geres, Luke Tochkin, Flint Patterson and Jessica Vandergulik (missing from photo) - will perform live next week as part of the semester wrap-up for Rock School, a credit course at Port Coquitlam's Terry Fox secondary.
Fifteen bands will play original and cover songs from Rush, Dixie Chicks and Jimi Hendrix, among others, on Wednesday from 7 to 10 p.m. while 16 music groups will head to the Terry Fox Theatre stage the following night to highlight tunes from We are the City, Yeah, Yeah Yeahs and the Pixies, and more.
Admission to Rock the Fox is $5, with proceeds supporting the program that recording arts teacher Steve Sainas founded more than a decade ago and now has a student waiting list.
