Artist Leesa Hanna displays a series of paintings in a variety of media at the Port Moody Public Library next month.

Hanna started out as a fashion photography apprentice in Vancouver, which later led to work as a professional photographer shooting mainly black and white lifestyle spreads.

Always searching for an alternative to the norm, Hanna was often experimenting in the darkroom with various Polaroid film processes and incorporating photography into mixed media works.

Her paintings demonstrate Hanna's drive to explore the natural beauty of art in the environment and in our everyday lives, creating "comfort food" for the soul.

Hanna works in various media including watercolours, oils and acrylics as well as charcoal and collage.

Hanna's works are at the PoMo Library throughout April.
