Two thrillers will be featured this weekend for Port Moody Film Society's French Mini-Fest.
Tell No One will be screened on Friday while Cache can be seen on Saturday at Inlet Theatre (100 Newport Dr.); both shows start at 7:30 p.m. Admission is $5 with an annual society membership of $5. Also on Friday, the society will unveil a new high-definition projector, which the group paid for in part.
GRANTS TIME
Arts, culture and heritage groups as well as artists working in Port Coquitlam can apply for grants from the city this fall.
The community cultural development investment program will host an information session on Monday, Sept. 17 at 5 p.m. for artists and organizations developing a new or continuing project with an arts focus in PoCo; that meeting will happen at the Leigh Square Community Arts Village. CLAY GROUP
A group of clay enthusiasts that meets monthly at Port Moody secondary will start its first meeting for the academic year next week.

A Port Moody-based writers' group that's been around for 35 years - making it one of the longest running and most successful arts organizations in the province - is welcoming new members.
New and established scribes of fiction, non-fiction and poetry can have their work critiqued, take part in discussions about the craft of writing and how to get published and offer encouragement.
The sessions are facilitated by Julie H. Ferguson, starting on Monday, Sept. 17 from 7 to 9:30 p.m., and Eileen Kernaghan, starting on Thursday, Sept. 20 from 9:30 a.m. to noon, at the Kyle Centre (125 Kyle St). The cost per semester are around $100.
