A Coquitlam actor will star in an off-Broadway show that will see its playwright in the audience on opening night.
Karla Scribner appears in Secrets of a Soccer Mom, the 33rd virtual play put on by Theatre in the Country (TIC) since the pandemic lockdown last March.
It will be Scribner’s debut performance with the company, which will live-stream the comedy in six performances from April 2 to 17.
Playwright Kathleen Clark will be watching the premiere from her home in New Jersey, said TIC artistic director Reg Parks.
Directed by Jacq Ainsworth, Secrets of a Soccer Mom also includes actors Rosie Grypma and Hana Joi, and will be presented from the TIC stage.
